When we tell people to be aware of the way that they smell, we of course assume that you have taken a shower and have gotten clean before going on a date as a single.  Well what we are talking about is the type of cologne or perfume that you wear, and how to do it properly as to not give your date a headache or asthma attack.  Here are a few simple tips to follow to give you a great chance of not offending anyone when putting on cologne or perfume.

Rule number 1 – don’t spray cologne on your clothes.  Too many guys just take cologne and spray it all over their clothes.  The bad part about this is that is wears off too quickly, and it can stain your shirts.  The best thing to do is to put a little bit on the nape of the neck as it will keep you smelling better longer.  Another important thing to do with cologne is not to put it on your pits.  The combination of sweat and cologne can really give a weird and foul stench, so don’t even try it.

With perfume, you must be very careful as to how much you apply.  Yes you want to smell nice, but too much perfume gives the bad side effect of a horrible headache.  You want your potential date to like you and not get a headache every time they are around you.  Make things easy and go easy with the perfume so that you smell nice, but that you don’t make people want to get a migraine.

By following these two simple rules, you can better control the way that you apply cologne or perfume to give yourself a better chance when it comes to smelling nice and making a good impression on people.  Get the most out of your cologne and perfume, just do it in the right way.

Like I said earlier, getting the phone number of a girl over Facebook or text messaging is a still a little less effective than just getting it in person but it can be done.  There are times when you meet someone but never had the opportunity to get their digits so you could easily get on Facebook, write them a message, and then just tell them you are trying to get to know some new people and would love to get their phone number.  From there you can give them a call and then ask them out on the date that you have planned.

Don’t Look Like A Freak

As much as people say that the insane hairdo and wacky clothing choice gives them their own style, the important thing to understand is that the majority of people don’t like freaky looking people.  Now of course, if you are a gothic punk rocker looking for a heavily tatooed girl who has shaved her head, don’t change a thing with your look.  For the rest of the singles in the world that are looking for that perfect guy or girl, just keep things simple.  Now we are not saying not to have your own style, but it is possible to have style without going to the extreme.

Hairstyles are something that you can have some fun with without looking too crazy.  Obviously, stay away from the extreme cuts like Mohawks, or shaving designs in your head, but make sure that your hair style reflects who you are personally and professionally.  Its OK to have a stylish hairdo, but just don’t make it the most memorable thing about you.  You want those people that you meet to remember your personality and good looks, not your insanely crazy retarded hairdo.

Clothing choice can be important as well as you can still have style, but stay away from the really flamboyant stuff like you see Lady GaGa pull off.  Once again, make your clothes and look add to your personality, not distract from it.  By following this tip you will have better conversations with the people that you end up going on dates with.  This will also make the people you meet get to know you better as well as not focus so much on the material things that don’t matter at all when you are starting to get to know someone.

So to recap, make sure you have a look that has some style, but that does not take too much away from your personality that the person can’t look through  the stuff you are wearing into your personality.  By making sure that you have your personality in the forefront, you will make it easier for yourself as a single to find a relationship.
